This is basically what happened to lolisho content at the start, in the sense that PayPal, MasterCard, et al innovated this death-by-debanking policy by first figuring out how to do it via lolisho. Which a lot of us (self included) did not want to defend. But I think that was a strategic error

Piggybacking on the piggyback: Make sure to try new things *frequently*. Try that style of crosshatching you saw. Dabble with the lasso-fill tool while coloring. Try aping the style from that one anime that's been on your mind with your characters. Try out the coil technique for foreshortening.
To piggyback on this post, here's my advice for how to improve without going insane: Every drawing, focus on making ONE thing in it good. The expression, the pose, the neckline, the particular tilt of a curve, whatever. Choose that one thing and let the rest of it be "eh." It'll save your life.
