The six "working firearms" involved included several revolvers, a rifle, and a modified pistol. The prosecutor listed 250 bullets and blank cartridges, 25 cartridge magazines, and hundreds of percussion caps. But there were also crossbows, arrows, tactical vests (like those worn by soldiers), two airsoft Kalashnikovs, butterfly knives, and 300 grams of gunpowder. Antique, legal weapons were also found inside. The Public Prosecution Service describes it as a "large collection of working weapons with matching ammunition." The collapse of a concrete canopy at the Novi Sad train station last Nov. 1 killed 16 people. The tragedy triggered youth-led street protests and a nationwide movement demanding political changes that have seriously shaken Vucic's tight hold on power. The protesters believe that the concrete construction at the renovated station building in Novi Sad collapsed because rampant corruption and nepotism in state infrastructure projects with China led to fatal disregard of safety rules. No one has been held responsible though 13 people have been charged.

Our findings show that the far right tries to expand its position in civil society by building relationships with existing organizations and establishing its own organizational structures. This does not mean that the far right poses less of a threat to a democratic civil society. In an era in which the far right is going from 'contra to control' (Pirro, 2024), it is ever more important to be wary of its more subtle strategies.”
