Oxfam book shops near universities are 🔥. Homeric hymns, Old and Middle English, and a history of Poland? Yes, please.

This photo was taken around this time of the year in 2023 at an open day at The Boy’s first choice for university. This week, he’ll be showing us around the city as a first year student. 🥺

Moment of silent reflection is still a thing apparently, and this was the sticker from Cobb Co (not my county)

I didn’t think it would be difficult to donate some of Bast’s stuff to the local animal sanctuary. I of course sobbed. It made me feel better when my son’s friends who volunteer there said they needed cat beds, so they now have two of her beds and lots of her toys amongst other things.

Totally using this to help explain Popper and falsificationism to my students.

Trying miniature painting for the first time, and it’s so relaxing. I’ve let hours pass without realising. So these are the very first ones I’ve done.

For Father’s Day, I painted a family crest for my husband. I don’t think my husband appreciated it, I’m thinking maybe because of the inclusion of our dearly departed kitty. So I will share it here instead. The testicular coconuts were unintentional, but very on brand for our family.

Just thinking about my grandfather that passed away well over 20 years ago. He was born in the early 1940s, was the epitome of the silent, stoic Southern man, but never said a word crossways when my sister and I insisted on styling his hair with bright hair bows, barrettes, and hair ties.

I saw these at online at a local antiques dealer. I cannot express how much I want them, and equally how much I can’t afford the nearly £2k price tag.
