Book 28 was TENDER IS THE FLESH by Agustina Bazterrica, translated into English. I think maybe just a biiiiiiit edgy for my taste, but a REAL conversation starter and an excellent book club pick. Not the kind of novel you forget about.

And no, it’s not about veganism.

Book 27, REPLACEABLE YOU by @maryroach.bsky.social — a delight! A true delight. The curiosity with which Roach approaches interviews and reporting trips makes me want to be a better journalist. Her writing is sincere and funny. She’s nailed it again! #BookSky 📚💙

Book 24 KATABASIS by the always-brilliant R.F. Kuang. A book about hell that’s a delight, clever without being dense and ultimately hopefully. Will certainly read again. #BookSky

Best meal I’ve had in Baltimore in a long time. Estiatorio Plaka in Greektown. Authentic Greek flavor, beautiful atmosphere and shockingly cheap!

Book 22, about 5 years late, is the incredible “The Ministry for the Future.” It opens with a horrifying scene of climate catastrophe and keeps going and ends with a message of pure humanistic hope. A great book. #BookSky 📚💙
