The brave men and women of Ukraine fight against the invading Russian army. Meanwhile in the USA, cowardly toy soldiers terrorise their own citizens to make themselves feel brave. Which country is the land of the free and home of the brave now?

May the victims of Jabba the Trump strike back.

I did not think it possible but the Trump family appear to be able to keep living without a functioning brain or heart. They're not entirely human and may represent a new sub-species, Homo stupidicus.

Whenever I travel to Europe, especially the old cities, I see mostly small ‘fit for purpose’ cars to navigate the narrow streets. I took this picture in Milan last year. They’re not obsessed with the size of their cars. It’s more about style and American trucks are just ugly and impractical.

I don't know how the journalist didn't just burst out laughing when he said "I think the good parts are the Trump economy and the bad parts are the Biden economy". He doesn't even realise how stupid he sounds. If he wasn't so evil I would feel sorry for him. It's elder abuse, get him off the stage.

Do Republicans realise how bat-sh!t crazy and offensive this is? Do they realise the damage this continued madness is doing to their country? When are they going to put country first and remove him from office?

We've all seen a lot of posts full of hate or lies, but has anyone ever seen a more embarrassingly stupid post. To think this came from a US Senator. How can voters take this man seriously and expect him to make important decisions impacting their lives.

The words of Abraham Lincoln in 1862 are more relevant today than ever. Just replace "...giving freedom to the slave..." with "...saving democracy...". Wisdom is timeless and history never forgets.

If DOGE is looking to cut cost, perhaps they could get politicians to fly economy class. This worked for former Australian Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam who used a very persuasive argument.

In 313 AD Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan making Christianity an accepted religion in Rome. 10 Years later it became their official religion. Today, Mike Johnson, a "Christian" and Speaker of the House of the most Christian nation on Earth, declares Christianity a radical ideology.

Make no mistake, this is deliberate. All the Nazis out there know exactly what this is. It will embolden them and we can expect more of it. This is not a one-off event but a long and deliberate pattern of behaviour. The US has gone full fascist. It will not end well.

The ancient Greeks, who invented democracy, knew that its foundation was based on all men being equal before the law. Let's hope the legal system, and the judges that oversee it, can uphold that basic principle over the next four years. Barbarians are at the gate and history will judge the judges.

Seriously Donald, why would anyone want to become part of your version of America. Nobody wants your pussy grabbing antics in their country. Try wearing a silly red MAGA hat outside the USA and people will look at you as if you are an idiot. They are laughing at you Donald, and crying for America.

I admire the length some people go to in order to protect wildlife. But perhaps this is going too far?

AMAZING BUT TRUE: Shakuntala Devi had a freakish ability to perform mental arithmetic on extremely large numbers incredibly quickly. She was born in India in 1929 and began displaying a command of numbers at just three. She wrote several books on maths and other topics. A remarkable woman indeed!

This is possibly the saddest, most pathetic thing I have ever seen from a world leader. He is so desperate for adulation he will sell the entire country to anyone who flatters him. This is an existential threat to the USA and an imminent disaster. Isn't there an adult in the room who can stop him?

Something to consider in these difficult times...If you think you're too small to make a difference, you haven't spent a night with a mosquito (African Proverb)

If this is a real tweet then Musk is not a fit person to be a company director or CEO. Companies have a responsibility not just to shareholders, but also to their employees, customers, and the communities in which they operate. Without this 'social license' to operate, they are not sustainable.

Abraham Lincoln, 1863
"....government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Republican Party, 2024
....government of the people, by the rich, for the rich, shall be created on the earth.

If you listen carefully you can hear Lincoln turning in his grave.

Funny how stresses over the years can turn the ordinary into something unique.

Let us not hate someone so much that we become like them.

Since the election, it's understandable that we're focused on protecting democracy and compassionate civil societies. But let's not forget the existential threat posed by making Earth uninhabitable. Despite what Musk wants you to believe, we're not relocating to Mars. There is no planet B.
