Tony’s pioneering work in live-cell imaging is transforming how the world understands DNA repair, cancer cell death, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. His discoveries are reshaping global research and bringing us closer to better, more effective cancer treatments for children.

We would like to say thank you to the Osteosarcoma Institute in the US for their support of our research and we’re excited to see what this project achieves for a disease of the bones that often impacts children and teenagers.

Well done to both CMRI labs. A fantastic collaboration to advance understanding in this critical area of research.

In this work they studied how the immune systems of people with multiple sclerosis were impacted as they aged to assist in clinical management and therapeutic strategies.

With access to ResetData’s AI compute resources, ProCan aims to develop a world-first model that integrates key aspects of a cancer patient’s clinical data with protein data generated in ProCan from many thousands of cancer samples, to transform how cancer is diagnosed and treated.

3/4 This event was proudly organised by the Behavioural Sciences Unit at UNSW and the Stem Cell Medicine Group at Children's Medical Research Institute, with support from our partners at Vision Australia and Retina Australia.

2/4 It was a wonderful opportunity for our scientists, A/Prof Anai Gonzalez Cordero and Dr Eden Robertson to talk about their work and hear directly from families about their needs.

3/3 Both scientists are doing extraordinary work to further understand cancer at a cellular level, to improve treatments and ultimately patient outcomes. We congratulate them both on this wonderful achievement.

2/3 Hilda will be investigating how DNA repair pathways are activated to cause cell death and Tony’s work will look at the new biological role that these pathways play to expand our understanding of DNA repair biology.

Also in attendance were Children's Medical Research Institute's lab heads Professor Ian Alexander and Professor Leszek Lisowski who were founding scientists at VVMF and instrumental in its inception.
