@BristolCouncil and @BristolWaste,
When charging is introduced at Repton Road Car Park, will some of the money raised be ringfenced and used for maintenance, including keeping on top of the regular flytipping?

This is botched Budget, from a government that is hiking taxes on ordinary families instead of going for growth by fixing our trade with Europe.

The Lib Dems have been campaigning for the introduction of a tourist tax for several years:

“The money raised from people visiting our region must be put back into local communities, to improve the lives of visitors and residents alike.”

Bristol Lib Dems amended Bristol’s budget to have a visitor levy feasibility study. The report was completed in September and acknowledged that a visitor levy presents ‘a clear opportunity to generate dedicated funding to support the visitor economy’.

🎉 Success! The Government has finally listened to our campaign to introduce visitor levy powers in England.

However, it's crucial that the money raised is not kept in the Mayor's coffers. It must be spent in our local communities to make Bristol a better place to visit and live.

And we all know who is responsible.

“The most dishonest campaign in our history said it would save us £350 million a week, but Brexit actually cost us £250 million a day in 2025.”

We have exceeded the required number of signatories to trigger a debate at City Hall.

I’ve been talking to a local resident and architect about his ideas for the wide junction near Tarr’s and this Sat 22 Nov he’ll be on site to explain his vision and to see if people like it or not.

Your councillors will also be there to answer any questions about this, or any other local issues.
