This particular point is really key

one benefit of "people sharing their thoughts online" is the promise of dispelling pluralistic ignorance -- i.e. not knowing what your neighbors/others think about something

the problem is, corporate social media algorithms are very hijack-able ...

I googled it and the "AI overview" answer went utterly off the rails

"a jigger shot equals six quarter cups"

man this Old Fashioned is gonna be STRONG but it's what the AI says so *cheers*
