Like, I started paying attention in 2015, and while trust was low, and the coverage of 2016 was subject to a lot of criticism, but there was (seemingly) some really honorable journalism being done in Trump 1 and the media "mea culpas" to counterbalance the failures of 2016. Nothing like that today.

Thats the oldest part of the cohort. If you've only paid attention the last year or 2, you've only really known the national press as collaborators with the people who want to kill you or your friends and family.
