We all should start saying that Trump is an illegitimate president due to the 14th Amendment’s plain text and his pardons are null and void
dems should start saying that presidential pardons dont apply to international war crimes and in fact implicate the president, no idea if thats true but they should start saying it

Like, I started paying attention in 2015, and while trust was low, and the coverage of 2016 was subject to a lot of criticism, but there was (seemingly) some really honorable journalism being done in Trump 1 and the media "mea culpas" to counterbalance the failures of 2016. Nothing like that today.

Thats the oldest part of the cohort. If you've only paid attention the last year or 2, you've only really known the national press as collaborators with the people who want to kill you or your friends and family.

If you're 19 and started paying attention in high school, your first impressions of the national press would be the campaign to villainize CRT and manufacture a moral panic against trans people, followed by attacking the end of the war in Afghanistan, and its only gotten worse since.
I’m not sure what to make of this survey, honestly? If you’re a young person in solidarity with Gaza, or against police killings, or you’re trans or queer, would you have reason to trust the news?
A lost generation of news consumers? Survey shows how teenagers dislike the news media
You don't have to tell Cat Murphy or Lily Ogburn about the attitudes of young people toward journalists.

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Van Hollen: "It's either murder from the first strike if their whole theory is wrong, and I think the weight of the legal opinion is they've concocted this ridiculous legal theory. But even if you accept it, then it is a war crime. I do believe the secretary of defense should be held accountable"

Today is the anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Not only did the law literally open doors to countless students with disabilities (myself included), it also had the unintended consequence of creating the moral panic around an autism "epidemic." 🧵 1/

legacy media is happy to help in the "death of us all" project
When a news outlet puts a reckless, undocumented claim by the Trump regime in the main headline and puts medical experts’ pushback in the smaller type, it’s making a choice. And not a good one.

As part of cleaning up after all this, we should repeal the Invade the Hague Act and then join the ICC
Handing Hegseth over to The Hague is the moderate position.
Also recognize that this unambiguous use of the military to commit murder of helpless noncombatants as they fought for life is a direct reflection of the virulent white supremacy that has seized our government, where every Latino man is a gangbanger in a de facto state of war against White America
