I'm in Australia and totally agree it's exactly the same flawed narrative that conservative govts pull globally shrink govt ,sell off assets, deny responsibility using low taxes as the carrot.

Every industry sector is subject to codes of ethics and regulatory compliance
Why not them?
Appropriate legislation and statutory laws should be in place to prevent this open corruption
it's just that they get to pass and write the law
