I'm making a tool to help you make games like Paradox does, or like Maxis did, back in the day.

I think it's perfectly plausible that there's an element of class solidarity in how Sulzberger forms his morals.

Calling billionaires "the pedophile class" is a provocation I guess?

You don't need to be especially smart to act in solidarity with others of your class. You just need to -- in this instance -- look the other way when a fellow billionaire leaves incriminating evidence on your mail server.

One desirable side effect of building my engine around persistent branching timestreams is that you can export any given playthrough as an XML log of everything that happened in it. Sooner or later, I want to make some good annotation tools, so you can also study the playthrough artifact in-engine.

Well, apart from Musk's fans, I suppose.

But surely you're not.

I don't really care. You're trying to "gotcha" her about a grammar rule that she wasn't trying to follow, had no reason to follow in that context, and you're the only one who gives a shit.

She didn't try fancy writing. It's a tweet. She knows the difference, probably better than either of us.

People use punctuations to save on character count in tweets all the time, and it's resulted in some changes to the way punctuation reads. Maybe she was taking advantage; maybe it was old habit.

Failed? I liked the tweet just fine. If you disliked it because it didn't use punctuation to your taste, that speaks poorly of your taste.

dude. don't link to serial rapists. it's ok to have problematic favs but there's got to be a line

So what? Twitter has never been known as a place for formality.
November 11, 2025 at 6:41 AM
Knowledge of and adherence to formal grammatical conventions is not at all the same thing as literacy.

hi

Well, unfortunately, they really only barely managed to execute some of the top brass. There were attempts at trials for lower ranking Nazi officers, but not in Nuremberg, and the sentences weren't even all served www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9Ay...

I guess that's all I've thought of so far. I have a connection that can help out with legal details, but, idk, I haven't studied any existing coops in this area much... I'll certainly be reading up on Servo's governance; do you know any others I should look into?
November 10, 2025 at 2:49 AM
i finally got a chance to hash out some ideas for a cooperative to support Lisien dev with someone who knows something about coops. neat stuff
November 8, 2025 at 5:13 AM
I like the idea of waiving license fees for members who want to use other members' proprietary code. Not that different from MSDN or whatever. Might not be viable for just anything we publish though...
November 8, 2025 at 5:12 AM
And I guess similar decisions to protect our proprietary code. I don't think every game we publish needs to be FOSS
November 8, 2025 at 5:06 AM
The membership would need to vote to prosecute any license violators, since we don't want to go after random game jammers who didn't read the fine print
November 8, 2025 at 5:06 AM
(since they've all declared Mongo's license non-free. I'm still angry about that)
November 8, 2025 at 5:06 AM
Oh, right, license enforcement! I've picked a restrictive free software license, which could change to be even more restrictive if I get the money to enforce it without any legal nonprofit's assistance
November 8, 2025 at 5:06 AM
And probably some software archivists and some journalists and critics to write about the games and the people who make them
November 8, 2025 at 5:02 AM
Oh, the asset store could have social features at some point. So, the cooperative would need to employ mods and such
November 8, 2025 at 5:02 AM
But also, if this makes bank, members vote on how to use that bank to produce software, including games
