In 2021, over at the bad place, I got days of horrible harassment from hundreds of ignorant people after I commented on a Wen tweet where she worried over the societal harm from people getting a free donut after their COVID vaccine.

Though the music isn’t quite as good as Glen Hansard’s contributions to Once, because nobody is better than Glen Hansard, Sing Street is one of my favorite movies. I can watch it over and over. It’s just so sweet and fun. And also the music is pretty amazing.

I always get a kick out of scenes like this one from Hallmark’s Three Wisest Me. This is a dad, and an ED doctor for some reason, showing his newborn twins off to family in the waiting room literal minutes after delivery. It gets worse but I’ll spare you.

The White House has released new images of babies after receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine.

“Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 70…year…mortgage.”

I get that this CDC page is directed at “everyone” and not medical professionals, but measles doesn’t just cause an “uncomfortable rash and high fever”. It can cause pneumonia, encephalitis, and even death. It can cause immune amnesia that raises risk from other infections. It can kill years later.

He’s giving Twinkie the Kid a run for his money at this point.

There is an extremely short list of franchises that needed a third installment less than Now You See Me.

A podcast I listen to plays the same ad for Ruff Greens over and over. It’s a dog food created by a naturopathic doctor. Not a veterinarian. Not even a naturopathic veterinarian. I can’t say it has never happened, but it’s hard to imagine a medical doctor using their MD to market animal feed.

This is a silly one. You will not hurt a baby by touching their heads, even their “soft spots”. There may not be bone but there is dense fibrous tissue in those areas. Baby heads tolerate the strong pressure of a vaginal delivery just fine with rare exception. Please wash your hands though.

Spinal energetics is the stage hypnotism of chiropractic. The provided explanation practically admits that it requires a subject to play along. Also, I laughed when it says “This isn’t woo.”

I see stuff like this on FB and around the internet periodically and it isn’t very helpful. Yes, a rash sometimes seen with sepsis doesn’t blanch, but before that the child will be sick as shit. There is zero chance a parent wouldn’t already be concerned enough to seek help.

There is a lot of terrible parenting advice online. Just saw this over at FB. Both describe potentially septic infants and neither mention seeking appropriate medical care. Just dangerous stuff here.

Forget medbeds. Call me when we have Medibots.

Anyone who gets this reference is my new best friend. And yes, that is Sorcerer Supreme Wong, played by Benedict Wong, here as Dr. Franklin Fu.

I wouldn’t exactly say that Friendship is an easy watch. Had to get through some scenes peeking through my fingers. But it is hilarious. If you like I Think You Should Leave, you will like this movie.

This shit is everywhere. A few years ago, I found a white power hand signal on a poster at work. They were taken down immediately after I pointed it out.

Nothing quite like being greeted by a Christian nationalist slogan associated with terrorism when arriving at work in the morning. It was in permanent marker so took a few minutes to scrub off.
