Just got off the phone and am APPROVED for help via legal aid and January 14th I have an appointment to help me navigate getting my exes wages garnished for back support. In the meantime I am still trying to raise $65 to cover my part of rent.

also need people to not act like the only way you get to be a real writer is writing full time. it’s almost impossible to survive in a freelance arts career right now. should you be able to? sure. but we can’t sneer at the idea of prioritizing survival over embodying the ”art is suffering” fantasy
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.
