Now I’ve got Immich set up and uploading my iOS photos to my servers, with an automatic nightly cloud backup (and 2 other synced offline backups)
I should be good to stop paying for iCloud storage, but it feels scarier with photos than it did with other stuff (eg music & video streaming, documents)

That there's no way to see your Apple Card transactions on macOS is such an annoying issue. It's my only card that doesn't penalize me for making transactions outside the USA, but having to go between devices when doing my bookkeeping is super annoying.

I found this to be a very compelling argument for why generated AI output (research, images, code, etc) can feel really great to you, while no one receiving that content cares very much.

I would like to separate art from artist but I find it really hard to ignore the voice in the back of my mind reminding me of who made it. Even if I didn’t pay anything to support them or anything, partaking in it makes me feel guilty.

If transformers are robots in disguise, then that means their natural configuration is humanoid. They spend a ton of time in their vehicle form, with their heads hidden and their limbs in unnatural positions. Just thinking about what their conscious experience must be like is uncomfortable.
