That's true. I'm just wondering what is 'dehumanizing' about it.

The idea that air travel -- traveling in mid-air at incredible speed with stunning saftey -- is 'dehumanizing' is sort of a wonder for me to consider. Particularly when it is a choice!

Look, I don't love admitting it, but Duffy is basically right on this one.
November 26, 2025 at 3:36 AM
Ok....but I'm actually on board with Duffy on this one, to be honest.

Oh my. Hide the ketchup in the WH!

Someone needs to expand this thought to international relations. Why we are being so tough on Venezuela/Nigeria/Ukraine but shying away from Russia, China. It's the same idea. Is the entire 'pivot' to Western hemisphere mainly because Trump knows we are so much stronger than anyone else in region?

Whoa! You weren't kidding.

The group gets bigger if you add in Commanders, Wizards, Maryland...DMV sadness all around.

Thank you for watching so we don't have to.

But let's not forget that this new deal only goes through Jan 30. Imagine Dems being in the position to tell the country "we gave Republicans a second chance and they STILL won't do anything to less your premiums". Then they shutdown the gov again. That not a terrible position to be in...
November 12, 2025 at 3:05 AM
It didn't actually. Republicans win only because of Trump, if he is on the ballot. If he's not, they lose! Why? Mainly because they run extreme candidates they aren't electable.
November 12, 2025 at 2:53 AM
No, actually. Because the Dems can do this all again on Jan 30. They can say to Republicans: "Look, we gave you a chance to get out of this and you failed. So we're shutting it down again and this time we're not giving you an offramp." That's a pretty strong bargaining position.

Lovely and thoughtful addition to this conversation. Thanks for being so helpful.

I reject this fully. MAGA wins only because of one man -- Trump. When he is not only the ballot, they lose. All the time. Meanwhile, centrist Dems often win, including last week when Dems who are considered centrist won in places like VA, OH, GA, and MS.
November 11, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Just as a point of reference, this sounds exactly like the MAGA crowd. "If I don't get EVERYTHING that I want, let's primary everyone." That is quite literally Trump has demanded in his party for the last 10 years.

I just think you (and others, not just you) are discounting how much Dems gained in the last 40 days (including, by the way -- historic victories all over the country) and the potential to have a REAL issue to run on next year. This 'all is lost' attitude just reminds me too much of...well...Dems!
November 11, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Yes, I understand that. But to what end? How much longer should Dems have held out? 2 weeks? a month? What if GOP didn't give in? Then what? How much immediate pain to average Americans were Dems willing to endure?
November 11, 2025 at 3:38 AM
OK... Pretty good.
November 11, 2025 at 2:37 AM
Serious, non snarky questions : what was the plan to end this if no deal? Wait out GOP for how long? Another week? 2? 4? At what cost? What indication did Dems have that GOP would move off position? At what point is looking at Plan B a good idea?
November 11, 2025 at 2:34 AM
So tell me, how should this go according to you? At what point would GOP give in? 1 more week? 2? After Thanksgiving? At what cost? I love the attempt, but at some point there has to be a Plan B if you can't see how Plan A ends.
