Planes always seem to have names. I’m thinking about calling her “Marcia’s Gift” after my sister.

The docs want me up and moving every forty minutes or so. My physical therapist brings ankle weights. I’m settling for the heavier basketball shoes I haven’t worn in three years.

I’ve been asked how my back got messed up. I blamed wear and tear. I forgot something.
