Graceful cloud movement over the South Bay mountains at golden hour this evening 😍 #CAwx

The unsettled air left behind after yesterday's storm made for some truly beautiful cumulonimbus action over the Oakland hills this afternoon #CAwx

There’s something remarkably graceful about the arrival of this week’s storm 😌 #CAwx

Didn't quite make it home in time to catch the full sunset, but what I did see was pretty gorgeous

Good evening ☺️

I put together all of the timelapse clips from yesterday’s epic cloud show. An unbelievably stunning day, what a treat to have witnessed 😍 #CAwx

Okay, today wasn’t too bad

Top to bottom, start to finish, banner day for cloud watchers in the Bay Area today. What a sunset to cap off a stunning day! #CAwx

As the day progresses, it never gets less awesome. Forgive me for flooding the timeline 😅

There are no words for how stunning this afternoon has been…just…wow
October 14, 2025 at 11:30 PM
I mean, look at this thing! 👀
October 14, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Just based on the size of this anvil towering over the Santa Cruz mountains (@ appx. 3:30pm) it would not be surprising to learn there may have been funnel clouds embedded in this system #CAwx

I’m feasting 😍

Finally, you can see how rapidly those cute lil cumulus puffs developed into much larger system in just a few short minutes. (Loosely each video is 1 second = 1 minute of real time) #CAwx

Looking back toward the Oakland Airport and East Bay hills… love how these little cumulus puff balls grow #CAwx
October 14, 2025 at 6:02 PM
A short while later, you can see the tops of the cumulonimbus beginning to collapse as they run out of the ingredients necessary to keep them aloft. #CAwx

Captured beautiful timelapse shots over the San Francisco Bay this morning: the pocket of unstable air embedded behind the main front of this storm set up the right conditions for some dramatic cloud development! #CAwx
October 14, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Another moody system crawling across The Bay last night. It’s possible I’m having TOO much fun learning aerial photography 🤩
October 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Dramatic rainshower over the Berkeley Marina yesterday evening as our next system arrives #CAwx

Last night’s sunset over the San Francisco Bay was downright tropical😍 #CAwx

Tonight’s sunset over the San Francisco Bay was a feast of different cloud types! #cawx

(One of my first ever flights with my drone, plz forgive my less-than-perfect handling 🙃)

It’s a shame I couldn’t get a better photo, this little flush of instability across the bay made for some pretty awesome cumulus spires on this morning’s commute 😍

What a neat taste of the future of our weather reporting infrastructure: KMUX radar is down, and there’s weather kicking up in the Bay right now.

AccuWeather has no way of informing the user that their “radar view” is only showing the bits of what KDAX can see over the hills.

Me: over here just trying to have a peaceful moment with a pair of hawks

Nature: bet
