‘Tis the season for holiday rewatches this #LetterboxdFriday! I also saw five new-to-me films including Eddington (better than Beau Is Afraid), Beverly Hills Cop (loved it), and The Roses (Colman and Cumberbatch are fantastic). I wish DeVito’s The War of the The Roses was streaming. #LastFourWatched

Ari Aster does the Coen brothers.
Acts I and II: Fargo. But in the desert. During COVID. With political commentary threaded throughout. And everyone’s an asshole. Except Micheal Ward.
Act III: No Country for White Men. Who needs nuance?
That said, I didn’t hate it.

I absolutely loved FREAKIER FRIDAY! Just as good as the original. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much at a movie. #filmsky

Welcome to #LetterboxdFriday! My #LastFourWatched are below. Among the eight new-to-me films this week were some big name titles: Weapons (loved), Fantastic 4: First Steps (really fun) and 3 Women (utterly brilliant). And, of course, the return of RWRB because my friend Gaia and I are OBSESSED

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! I saw four new-to-me films, including the adorable The Worst Witch with Fairuza Balk and the not great Halloween Is Grinch Night — neither pictured. I loved Gregg Araki’s Nowhere, which isn’t much of a surprise as I’m such a fan of his. #lastfourwatched

Happy Halloween AND Happy #LetterboxdFriday! My #LastFourWatched are shown below, but I got in a recent personal best of SIX new-to-me movies this week. Out of these, I highly recommend Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Häxan (1922), and Dead Ringers (1988).

#LetterboxdFriday is here! This week, I saw three(!!!) new-to-me films, including Godzilla, King of the Monsters! with Raymond Burr (not pictured). It’s not as good as the Japanese original. Scanners was fantastic and Manos: The Hands of Fate was the worst kind of bad flick — it was BORING.

I’ve been remiss of late with keeping up with my favorite first watches, so here they are in one go! I haven’t seen as many new-to-me #movies lately, but hope to do better going forward.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! My #LastFourWatched are all repeats, but I did get in one new-to-me flick this week: Silver Bullet, based on a Stephen King story with a screenplay by him. I enjoyed it! Plus, Megan Follows is in it!

It’s #LetterboxdFriday in October, which means more horror! I finally saw CASPER for the first time and I enjoyed it much more than Hocus Pocus. #LastFourWatched

#LetterboxdFriday already?! I managed to get in one new-to-me — Robert Altman’s Popeye — for my #LastFourWatched. All of these were viewed with my Bestie and the first three films we watched IRL on my birthday last Saturday! ❤️

This #LetterboxdFriday, my #LastFourWatched includes one new-to-me film, one trilogy, and one fun spooky season animated flick that doesn’t get enough love

#LetterboxdFriday sees the return of RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE to my #LastFourWatched. (I honestly never ever tire of it.) THE HAUNTED STRANGLER (aka THE GRIP OF THE STRANGLER) is a fun, old-school horror/mystery with Boris Karloff that I definitely recommend

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Only managed to watch three movies this week. My two rewatches were bangers, while the new-to-me flick was entertaining yet not particularly memorable despite a fun lead turn by Denzel Washington
September 13, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Denzel is living his best life as an actor these past few years. HIGHEST 2 LOWEST continues him along this path and with his favorite (and best) collaborator. A solid, entertaining Spike Lee joint that deserves the largest audience possible.

#LetterboxdFriday is here! A great #LastFourWatched includes two new-to-me films — both by the Master of Suspense himself, Alfred Hitchcock. After seeing MARNIE, I’m curious about others in his late period

Hooray for #LetterboxdFriday! I managed to gather enough for a #LastFourWatched this week. All comfort watches, yet it’s a minute or longer since I’ve seen most of them
August 30, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! I’m still rewatching movies, but I did manage to squeak in a new-to-me flick for my #LastFourWatched
August 15, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Still in the middle of my comfort watch era, but for my #LastFourWatched I managed at least one new-to-me film. MATILDA is a sweet, magical delight. If you’ve never given it a chance, make sure you do.

Happy Birthday, @bryanfuller.bsky.social!!! 🎉🎁🥂 From grim reapers to talking tchotchkes to a certain pie maker to murder husbands and beyond, you’ve given all of us so much joy. I hope you have felt even a fraction of that joy today of all days. Much love, from one diehard Fannibal to another!! 💖💖

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! I’ve been in comfort mode of late, but I still managed two new-to-me watches. All in all, a very good week. #LastFourWatched

It’s #LetterboxdFriday (and I almost missed it)!!! I admit it’s been a quiet week film-wise for a few reasons, but that’s okay. What’s not okay is how meh SUPERMAN left me. I should have just rewatched Harley Quinn S5 like I said in my latest blog post 😏

Was this leaps and bounds better than Zach Snyder’s version of SUPERMAN? Without a doubt. Is this the Supes we deserve? Not quite. Corenswet is a wonderful Kal-El/ClarK, but he needs a few solo films so the character can grow. A fine debut that could/should have been better.

Time again for #LetterboxdFriday! Of my #LastFourWatched, I do wish The Old Guard 2 had been better. That said, I’m so happy to see my fam again — even Copley (though that’s more about my affinity for Chiwetel Ejiofor). Not featured: I also caught up with 28 Years Later, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
