So lately I’ve been playing a Wii JRPG called Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, and it’s got me thinking about how JRPGs contend with turn based mechanics. The ‘is turn-based combat outdated’ conversation has existed nearly as long as the genre itself, after all

Cute story by the way —these sprites on the friend section are from the gen 8 games, where they overhauled the party sprites with sleek black outlines!
For pokemon that weren’t in gen 8 I used and edited older sprites, but gen 9 pokemon don’t *have* sprites, so for ceruledge I just made it myself
