I find the "atheism = reactionary" crowd infuriating, or in general the insistence that leftism must involve active endorsement of spiritualistic or counter-enlightenment modes of thought. It's a place where sexy murder poet ressentiment cloaks itself in a political garb and leads to nothing good.
Going to work and deleting the thread- I find it more and more exhausting to not be able to call myself an atheist as a Marxist without people taking it as an attack or insinuating I am a reactionary for doing so. Have fun arguing amongst yourselves

Kinda tired of farmer socialism tbh
1) Impose massive tariffs on China
2) China retaliates by ending its soybean imports
3) Cut deal w/ China so they'll buy our soybeans
4) China buys only 20%, so far, of what it agreed to purchase
5) Offer $12 billion to US farmers so they don't go bankrupt

Trump makes these baloney investment claims all the time (with help from collaborator corporations and authoritarian countries) but they don't work, even with media outlets readily repeating them. Polling on Trump and the economy continues to crater, net approval currently -25ish.

FWIW part of the reason governors, police and state militia should actively block ICE / Border Patrol is that Americans will absolutely not support bloody civil conflict.

Even in the middle of J6 there was only one chud who was willing to die for him. Support is not that deep.
This makes me think about the picnickers who showed up from DC to watch the first battle of Bull Run, expecting a swift, entertaining defeat of the Confederacy. Nobody cheering for civil war has any idea how terrible it would be.

I don’t think we had assigned novels until high school. You did have to read so many books per quarter and pass tests out of a bank starting in 6th grade. Latter system was much better.
As a parent of a now middle-schooler, I'm really hoping and expecting that by the time she hits 8th grade she's reading novels in school. But that's not happening everywhere in D.C., as I learned from this informative op-ed in @51st.news: 51st.news/opinion-dcps...

Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.
