i'm agreeing. it was easier then to have conversations about certain topics without the constant moral contests. but at the same time, the level of prejudice that existed was Insane. i speak as an avid fan of gothic media. ppl doesn't seem to understand how the genre works and the takes are... wild

it's almost like platonic relationships are undervalued in fandom culture. the friendship could be the most solid thing and ppl will ship them as if they're obligated to be "in love" to actually validate the relationship. like, shipping is fun as hell but why are we so obsessed with it?
