Labour MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven
This Labour Government has frozen rail fares for the first time in 30 years — and it’s welcome news.

There’s still much more to do to improve our rail network — from better reliability to stronger accountability — but freezing fares is a move in the right direction.

Great to catch up with my good friend Gully today 😎

Great to catch up with my friend Craig Jones today.

Craig has advocated for LGBTQ+ rights and HIV awareness to his commitment to social justice as the founder of Fighting with Pride.

He's exactly the sort of example we need in public life.

I’m grateful to be featured in
@brightonargus.bsky.social today as I call for a genuine reset in public standards — because the foundations of our democracy depend on it.

In Parliament, I set out why rebuilding trust starts with real reform.

I’ve met with the Friends of the Pepperpot to discuss protecting one of Brighton’s most distinctive Regency landmarks.

We’re pushing for proper surveys, action on the trees growing through the roof, and a place for it within wider heritage plans.

5 million extra NHS appointments delivered already under this Labour government.

That’s 5 million more chances to be seen earlier.

5 million fewer people stuck waiting.

5 million steps towards getting our NHS back on its feet.

It's Transgender Awareness Week.

Trans people are among the most marginalised and discriminated in our society. We all need to stand up to that.

It was great to meet the staff at MindOut today, a brilliant local mental health service run by and for LGBTQ+ people. I'll keep supporting their work.

I held my latest constituency surgery at Saltdean Lido — always a brilliant local venue and a real community hub.

Proud to welcome launch of £75m LGBT+ Veterans Financial Recognition Scheme 🏳️‍🌈

I’ve worked with @fightingwithpride.bsky.social
& LGBT+ veterans to help make this happen — a vital step toward justice for those banned from serving simply for who they were.

Today I joined remembrance services in Rottingdean and Peacehaven to honour all those who gave their lives in service to our country.

It’s always deeply moving to see our communities come together to remember the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present.

We will remember them. 🌹

Here's to a great weekend 🍻

Hopefully with a win for @officialbha.bsky.social against Palace ⚽️

Great to meet Cllr Mark Earthey and local water-quality champions from FORCE & BH Seacheck at Saltdean Lido 🌊

Their community testing is vital to protect swimmers & wildlife — and I’m calling on Southern Water to extend funding so this work can continue.

Rottingdean Library matters — and local people have made that clear.

Almost 3,000 residents took part in the citywide consultation on Brighton & Hove’s libraries.

It’s a vital part of village life — and I’ll keep working with the Council, the Parish Council and campaigners to find a solution.

One of my main roles in the Cabinet Office is making sure procurement works for British businesses.

So It was great to meet with a range of small and medium businesses to discuss how we can use public procurement to boost jobs, growth and support small businesses across the country.

We will remember them.

Ahead of Remembrance Day this weekend, it was an honour to plant a poppy in Parliament's Constituency Garden of Remembrance on behalf of residents.

Lest we forget.

🍻 Have your say on the future of our pubs, cafés and restaurants!

The Government’s “Cheers to Change” consultation on modernising hospitality licensing laws closes at midday on Wednesday 6 November.

A privilege to meet with @ujs-uk.bsky.social and Jewish student leaders last week to discuss the rise in antisemitism on campus.

No student should ever feel unsafe because of who they are. We must all stand firm against hate — wherever it appears.

Our Armed Forces give everything for us — they deserve safe, decent homes in return. 🇬🇧

With Labour, 14,000 military homes across the South East are being upgraded.

Real respect. Real change.

On Friday I held a pop-up surgery at Asda in @brightonmarina.bsky.social

Thanks to everyone who dropped by and thanks to Asda for hosting.

If you have any casework needs, please email me at [email protected] and we'll do what we can to help.

@officialbha.bsky.social v Leeds today. Predictions?

I'm going 2-0 Albion. I've spoken to the players and they've agreed to ignore all my advice. Probably for the best.

Hope you have a great weekend.

✨️Great public meeting at St Cuthman’s today✨️

Lots of ideas for how we can spend the £20million investment we've secured for Whitehawk.

Thank you to everyone who came. More meeting coming.

And you can submit ideas via my website, link in the comments👇

Thank you to the Pankhurst Pantry — a volunteer-run project helping everyone in the community access affordable food with dignity. 💚

Open Fridays 11am–1pm at the Edge Community Room. Donations welcome if you can, but no one is turned away.

Huge thanks to the amazing volunteers👏

🚌 What's your experience of our bus services?

Have you tried the new 3X or the 94B? How about the recent changes to city centre bus stops?

I want to hear from you: what’s working, what’s not — and how we can make buses across the constituency better, fairer and more reliable.

I’m concerned by the move from Southern Water to close St George’s Road, Kemp Town, for up to four weeks to carry out “essential works.” Local businesses are rightly furious.

I’ve asked the Council and Southern Water to urgently review this.

After the attack on Peacehaven Mosque, I called for government funding for repairs and security.

On Thursday, I was proud to stand with the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to deliver on that promise — part of £10 million funding for mosques around the country.
