Bit of writing/journalism, bit of wildlife conservation, bit of this bit of that. Views my own etc. https://chrisbaker.handpressed.net/
Have not been able to do any #HedgeLaying for some time because of hip problems, so good to be out again. Near Modbury, #Devon this weekend. The sun shone. Thanks to @chris.parkes.photo for the pic. I'm in the background with hair getting in my eyes.

Lovely little piece this, lovely idea, and a new word too: spogomi. Have added some dreamy pics of collecting litter from the banks of the Dart estuary, from several years ago. No prizes that day but our bodies did ache. Lots of litter. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Very pleased to have made it to Hay Tor today with hundreds of others, and Old Crockern, to celebrate the Supreme Court's ruling on wild camping. Dartmoor's stars are for everyone - now let's see the same thing in other places too.

Seems an appropriate day to post this: My grandfather's shop/sub-post office (left) decorated for VE Day, Paignton, Devon #VEDay

Put something short about #Dartmoor on Wordpress but couldn't remember how to add the pics, some here instead: Whitchurch Common, by Walkhampton Church, Childe's Tomb & Horn's Cross. Words at: chrisbaker.handpressed.net/worths-way/

Good to see copies of Going to Ground on the display table @waterstones.bsky.social in Plymouth, keeping good company too. Happy equinox all. @jonwoolcott.bsky.social @littletollerbooks.bsky.social

Bumped into two of my Devon Rural Skills Trust friends at today's Skills of the Hills hedgelaying competition, their hedge was a classy bit of work, and hope they got placed. Helps take your mind off what's going on in the world. The dogs were too cute not to include.

New here where the sun shines brightly and thought I would try this as a first post. Going to Ground; an Anthology of Nature and Place, was published earlier this year by Little Toller, but still chuffed a piece of mine is included. Available at all good bookshops, as they say...
