as a last ditch effort I am going to add the DCC license to the shirt description and see if they accept that. I'm not optimistic.

So I send them the license, which doesn't explicitly mention shirts (nor should it) which is fine since I'm not making a shirt out of the book, I'm making a shirt out of art I OWN THE RIGHTS TO.

They shoot it down again.

I told them I own the IP and the art, and it's from my product that has nothing to do with D&D 5e, but they wouldn't budge. I mentioned it was for DCC RPG and I am a licensed 3rd party publisher for DCC RPG, at which point they wanted to see my contract, which ok sure.

After a few emails, they disclosed the reason was that it was "inspired by the IP (Dungeons & Dragons) of one of their trading partners"

Now, this was the cover for my DCC RPG adventure "Vault of the Murderworm" without logos. So essentially a "fantasy themed fight scene in a cave".

That's always been my approach. Out of over 600 projects backed, only 3 never came to fruition. (But I'm still hopeful on those.)
