Same! My boss is cool and let me purge windows from my work laptop. Anytime I need Windows specific tools I have VMs available and it works great

Recently I had to reinstall Windows 11 from scratch on a work laptop and it literally took hours just from all the updates and reboots it required it was nuts

I can get a Linux install up and going in like 30 minutes the difference these days is staggering

I'm so tempted by this one

Speaking from experience for work stuff, official Forticlient is borked to all hell lol

HOWEVER the default KDE network settings has configurable VPN options, Forticlient being one of them it's what I use instead and it's way more seamless

I find snap is usually the culprit, it makes a lot of things go weird, and it's way easier just to use a different distro than it is to rip snap out Ubuntu

Yeah agreed, I tried ubuntu again after a number of years of not using it and I was shocked at how buggy it is so much stuff just didn't work correctly

Mildly annoying but pretty easy fix

If you right click on the title bar of the app and go to More Actions->Configure Special Window Settings

And then click Add property and add Desktop file name

You can manually specify the command/desktop file and it'll grab the icon correctly

God this really sums it up perfectly, there isn't a great way to explain it. I know its bad and it makes me feel gross to see it so prevalent, but tons of people like it and I struggle to articulate to them why it's bad exactly
