When I fall in love again, I hope it feels familiar, like a warm voice asking where I've been, and how I got so cold. she/her

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

If you're trying to ditch NYT Games, which you should be since their games singlehandedly prop up the entire dogshit rag financially, you should switch to Puzzmo. An annual sub is 50% off today for a crazy $19 and as a bonus doesn't enable the genocides of Palestinians and trans people
Puzzmo — The (new) place for thoughtful puzzles.
Re-imagined mainstays like the daily Crossword Puzzle, modern classics like Really Bad Chess and SpellTower, and even a few brand new puzzles.

L'il bit of weebery for your timeline.

One of my favorite things about kanji is, kanji can be cute.

繭 , for example. It's thread (糸) and insect (虫), kinda-sorta inside grass (草).

It means "cocoon."

I think it’s fine if everyone who wants them gets accommodations. Can’t think of a single service, up to and including support staff or financial assistance I would be begrudge anyone if they actually use it.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

How about we worry less, as a society, about whether individuals might be cheating to get a disability accommodation or some help buying food, and more about whether extremely wealthy people and corporations are paying their fair share of taxes?

I hear you, but this show is problematic and controversial here in New Zealand. The Polynesian Panthers spent decades trying to prove they weren't a gang, but the writers and producers of the show ignored that part of their work.

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

Just ran out to get a haircut (from a new place, I procrastinated SO long because scary but after my last awful haircut, I took the plunge YAY!) and now I'm back home with a little mini-charcuterie I made myself for lunch. 💗

How many times did you lose to Renoir on purpose just to be able to hear this song again? #ClairObscur

I'm never going to get over this game.

No matter how hard people try to convince us having empathy is wrong,

it is right.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

it is a strength.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

it is unlimited.

The way this society views aging is so baffling to me. Aging is a privilege and a blessing. So many people never even get to be the age that I am. The fear of dying or even APPEARING to be closer to death renders us unable to fully live.

If you think your job is not to tell the truth but to "challenge your audience's assumptions" if the latter is in tension with the former then you're going to end up lying. bsky.app/profile/larr...
For my part, I would say that questioning the framing of some Times stories—for example, the highlighting of Trump’s putative emotions or the foregrounding of what he says (even when, as is often the case, what he says is false)—is not an indication that I want my “views validated.”
