The art is gorgeous, and the story is so good. They explore some tough dynamics, but Coco's choices are so heartfelt and sincere. It's become my comfort manga.

If you can write a prompt for a text generator, then I suggest you try writing. With time and effort you would end up with a more fulfilling and less environmentally harmful creative outlet.

And the CASTING. Ariana and Cynthia both nail their characters perfectly.
There's so much love and care and passion that went into this adaptation and it shows. I wish more musical adaptations (and adaptations in general) got this sort of treatment.

But as a movie? BAM! We get close ups on hands, and facial expressions, and a top down shot of Ariana grande scooting around on the floor during popular and it hits sooooo goooooood 😩

I saw the musical live back in the day, and I remember feeling underwhelmed by the experience - the music is so beautiful and bombastic and there's only so much you can do if you're performing it on a stage 20 feet away from the audience.

It's so beautiful, and cinematic, and it's so clear that they put a lot of thought into ways to flesh out the different story beats so they have maximum impact.
