Picking that sweet spot of quality/vibe/cost for an area is hard. Perhaps a little punchy for Brockley? Dunno, I’ve never even run a stall at a church fete so have no clue.

I should imagine all the self employed plumbers/sparks/bricklayers/decorators who work for the big builders are crying out to be state employees on a standard day rate (said no tradesman)

That was defo art of the plan, there is still passive provision at the Euston end, although it’s hellishly complex and don’t know how the latest HS2 and Euston NR station fit in

Yep, I think so. Also, way more disruption and compulsory purchase etc so that will be exciting. It has the advantage of making the wrong people in Wimbledon furious

Yeah, if we miles of well connected cycle only lanes but weaving around london doesn’t appeal. Personally id get a cheapo car if i had the need for that capacity

I can live without it but I suspect there will be a small but real uptick in car ownership in London asa a result. I very peeved

MASSIVE CARGO BIKE! (although you can get cheap used car for the price and benefit from a roof, also less likley to get stolen)

Croydon council uses Zipcar instead of having their own fleet, fortunately the borough has plenty of spare cash to buy a load of cars at short notice.

Exactly, it’s the day or less that’s really useful. I used the flex ones often.

Hiring a car for a day or more can be surprisingly ok if you use a comparison site and there’s a place near by but yes, the flexibility and a few hours at short notice is irreplaceable
