Pension savings are largely not taxed while invested. I believe it is unfair to get 45% relief on the way in and pay 0% (tax free cash lump sum) or 20% on the way out. All I’m saying is that higher earners need less incentive to save into their pensions and lower earners need a bit more help.
So your solution is to tax money going into pension savings, tax it whilst it is there and then tax it when you withdraw it. All the while probably complaining that people do not save enough for their retirement.

This is such an obvious solution, that could dovetail with increasing relief for standard rate tax payers - we aren’t saving enough as a nation.
Ending higher rate tax relief on pension contributions would raise over £14bn a year.

Why isn’t this talked about more as something the CX should do? What am I missing?

Ed Davey is right. Musk’s abuse of social media ownership to destabilise our democracy should now be treated as a serious national security threat, resulting in appropriate countermeasures. I have little faith that Starmer will rise to the challenge, however.
I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Thanks to @artsemergency.bsky.social for a great evening in Manchester, reminding us all the amazing work they do. And concluded by a great performance by Tony Walsh. Proud to be a supporter.
