My view again, but AI could be useful. Misuse simply to maximise profit will likely cause it to be a failure.

My view is that tech in itself is not the problem. The problem is how it is used. Wheels on a cart are not usually bad. Wheels on a tank are usually bad. Greedy people use economics to value everything in $s. Then, tech must satisfy greed or it's not valued.

I don't entirely agree. Technology is agnostic on growth, The economy is not. Indefinite growth is a problem we must face.

It's probably not. Again, it's the Libs saying their "plan without a goal" is better than Labor's "goal without a plan". Neither mean anything until we see outcomes. Without the LULUCF sector, Australia's emissions haven't reduced in 20 years of both LNP and Labor govs.

No. Not those ones.

When I was young, that wasn't a tin shed, that was a house.

The worry to me is that the original paper seems to have been peer reviewed and published. It should have been rejected.

Looks to me like an ongoing process to 'undo' the FOI process.
And I agree, Labor is just ongoing bad.

"Environment Minister Murray Watt said Australia needs a “tough cop” to enforce environmental protections including emissions targets"

But, don't talk about gas, or skates.

Yes. There are many politicians who rather spend their time debating social division than good policy.

Disbelief. Literally.

Agree, and I say that as a possible future target.

That's not what the government wants to hear.

They should use median, not average.
Average is inflated by the skew to very high income earners.
Average should only be used for "normal" data distributions.

In August 2024:
Median employee earnings in main job was $1,396 per week, up $96 (7.4%) since August 2023.

"defied climate doom"
A bit early for that claim I think.
Climate change has barely started.
