@chapman.wiki
I enjoy writing and problem-solving in Christian thought at https://chapman.wiki, with a focus on conspiracism, polarisation, and human sexuality. I've an M.Div, and a curious collection of interests.

My other channel is @eukras.bsky.social, on web dev.
I can't judge it for correctness, but I'm definitely ripping off the sheer lucidity and argumentative verve of this little volume. My favourite book on writing is 'Clear and Simple as the Truth' by Thomas and Turner, on the virtues of classic prose, and this exemplifies them all.

'The Conversion of the Imagination' (Richard Hays), on how Paul quotes the OT.

People _say_ there's no science in Genesis, but I say just look at how the woman makes the big new discovery and the man gets all the credit for it.

The 'government is tyranny' people will be right onto this, hey?!

In Australia the FPAus group on Facebook has a discord channel. Might be something similar in other locales.

Through a second hand retailer (izods), but only because I was looking for that specific finish. I really recommend trying+buying in person through meetups or similar. It'll cost much less and you'll have much better assurance that you'll like it.

(I'm looking into Scribo for flex+urushi atm.)

If you A/B a nice urushi with a nice Pelikan, you'll find 1) the mechanism on the Pelikan is better and it writes smoother, being made for cursive rather than kanji; but 2) you'll likely prefer the urushi for the feel of it. (Note that neither Pelikan nor Nakaya has good options for flex nibs.)

(But find a local pen meetup and try a range if pens without the pressure you'll feel trying them in a shop. There's no other way to tell what you'll like. The shiny $1500 finish may be less important than a $35 nib that you find comfortable in a pen you can take anywhere and not worry about it.)

Better in sunlight.

(I've been making a demo page for the Python `refspy` package, which generates these sunbursts.)

The Fountain Pens Australia group (Facebook) or their fpaus Discord, are pretty good places to buy secondhand, but definitely try any pen beforehand; the nibs vary, esp. secondhand.

Some M805s were my main everyday pens for a few years. They're just perfectly smooth and reliable, with very good ink capacity and next to no maintenance. They only lack a decent flex nib option.

The Melbourne Pen Meetup (in Emporium every month) usually has a someone with Pelikans you could try in person, from vintage 120s up to M1000s.

Some super classy stuff there too. I got to try an Aurora at a collectors's table, and Dino Writes from Singapore had a bundle of Scribo Urushi pens. #Wah
