By conducting lethal military operations under an invented designation and without any legislative or judicial review, the president is claiming the power to take life unilaterally and outside the limits of law.

The National Guard’s job is to protect and support our communities—fighting floods, battling wildfires, and helping neighbors after disasters. Sending Guard units to police D.C. takes them away from the work they’re trained for and the people who count on them #KeepTheGuardAtHome

Today is the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. President Johnson signed the bill into law to give all Americans a say in our democracy, free from discrimination and bias. Redrawing districts and purging voter rolls violate the spirit of this law and undermine our democracy.

The Senate Armed Services Committee included a Right to Repair provision in its NDAA. The R2R provision is a step toward improved military readiness, service member safety, and fiscal responsibility. Now it is the House’s turn to support the measure.
