It really sucks to try and run a business in South Korea. I would highly recommend int'l businesses avoid at all costs if they can. Especially young firms.

In a country where in-person transactions require no ID, no pin, and the vendor often signs w/ squiggle FOR the customer, how does this make any practical sense?

While you can just use your credit card number in most other countries, Korea insists on all this nonsense...

Visit three: Add support for international transactions (because of course that's not standard). Another 40 mins.

After all that, when trying to use the card, I'm asked for bank certificate verification (not working on Mac) or to use App for QR verification (not working on cell)

Visit two: Get company check card and low-level credit card, necessary certificates.

This took TWO hours, approximately, with me signing literally dozens of fields.
