We will need orders of magnitude fewer mines and orders of magnitude less mined material in a clean, renewable energy world.

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.

I was waiting to see if Colorado IRA heat pump rebates become available before getting one installed but my hope is fading that the funds will get unfrozen. Looks like Congress wants to kill the tax credits too so I'd better just move ahead with my plans. #HeatPump #ColoradoIRA

This is the best article on the benefits and challenges of heat pumps I've read.
I really don't know what the solution is, although hybrids (furnace plus heat pump) are one major option. This is after years of trying to figure it out.

Why Is It So Hard to Find a Competent Heat Pump Installer?
It can take patience and persistence to find a pro who knows their stuff, but once you do, you could be more comfortable, save energy, and avoid some repairs.

Have now taken our new EV on a couple of road trips. I can see why people criticize public chargers. It hasn't been terrible but there is room for improvement. Hopefully things will only be getting better.

Phoned a local HVAC company to get a quote on a Bosch IDS Ultra heat pump. I think it is the first heat pump in production that passed the cold climate challenge.
