We do our work by advocating for stronger laws, raising public awareness, and supporting survivor leaders.

We invite you to join us, in whatever capacity you can, through your actions and words, to continue in the fight against sexual exploitation.

Devastatingly, the sexual exploitation continued long after WWII ended. During the Korean War, the trafficking of women was facilitated and sanctioned by the South Korean and American governments.

The horrific abuse inflicted by the soldiers against the ‘comfort women’ was never fully acknowledged by the Japanese government.

As we celebrate 8 decades of the #UnitedNations, we stand firm in our commitment to the work against human trafficking and for the full realization of human rights of all women & girls.

From the Palermo Protocol to the Beijing Declaration, the #UN has provided states and civil society with human rights tools to tackle human trafficking and target its’ root cause, namely, demand.

Through strong laws + policies - such as the UN Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Other (1949) - public advocacy, & supporting survivor leadership, we can create a world where no woman or girl is bought, sold or exploited.

Please join us in fighting for every woman’s and girl’s right to live free from sexual exploitation, discrimination and violence.

The call to support survivors in their brave journeys seeking justice is especially urgent in this current environment of cultural and legal impunity for perpetrators of sexual violence.

On this commemoration, we reflect on the global, long-term impact of the slave trade, and mourn the countless lives lost and destroyed by this heinous practice.
