Yeah been a while since I read it too but I remember that while Waldo is central to the story and most interesting and fleshed out character he's a secondary protagonist and a a bit of an asshole (for very good reasons).

Whatever you do avoid the Dutchy Originals baked beans, the sauce is as watery and tasteless as the ASDA white label ones, the beans are hard and it's ridiculously expensive if isn't on clearance. Bought them then out of curiosity.
