My favorite line so far is when Captain Leslie Nielsen contemptuously tells the company exec “You irresponsible bastard.” Roddy McDowell plays his purser role with a scouse accent. John Lennon’s father worked on ocean liners. Lots of Liverpudlians did over the years.

Also I like how Gene Hackman’s character describes himself pretty much the way a novelist would introduce the character. I’m the best kind of priest, rebellious and independent, stripped of most of my clerical powers!

I was on motion sickness pills and made it through fine but 35 footers seas would’ve done me in, I’m sure. They put barf bag stations on all the stair landings. They also wouldn’t let us on our balconies for a few days.

Oh wow, dialogue confirms it. 35 footers. They must have better “stabilizers” than our newer, larger ship because I woke up in free fall with the 20 foot seas. And 3/4ths of the passengers are sick according to the next scene. That sounds about right.
