(For an Echidna) The Coalition would likely be the least appealing option: their track record includes weakening environmental protections and promoting mining and land development in sensitive ecosystems.

Labor may be the echidna’s second choice—showing some progress on renewables and land conservation, but still approving fossil fuel projects and deferring to state-level land clearing laws.

Turns out that flying London > Darwin + bus/ferry > Hobart, instead of flying all the way to Hobart, saves about 330 kg CO2 (including radiative forcing: the extra impact of emissions high in the atmosphere).
Is 330 kg a lot? It’s 11% of the trip; also 9% of Sweden’s 2022 per capita emissions 😳
