A look at how the game of rugby has changed due to law tweaks, how Irelands tactics have changed since the last RWC and why Irelands development pathways and selection policy at national level have made its set piece extremely vulnerable.

Are Wales the reason Ireland have a set piece problem?
Ireland may remain at the top of the world rankings but an increasingly unavoidable truth is emerging: Irish rugby has a set-piece problem. And despite headlines focusing on the national side, the iss...

Sad that Connacht did a Connacht but not begrudging Ospreys anything this year. The heart and soul of those lads to fight like they do in the face of their shit show of a union. Ymlaen!
Amazing effort from the Ospreys to come back from 21 down.

ARE YOU WATCHING WRU?
Ospreys completed a stunning fightback to overturn a 21-0 deficit at Brewery Field and beat Connacht 24-21 in their opening European Challenge Cup pool match.

Just left the Rec. Awful experience. Watched Munster play and lose all over England but have never come across such lairy and downright abusive home support. Bath fans, do better (or go watch the football)

Great to be a Cardiff based Irish rugby fan this week. Bath tomorrow for Munster, down the road to Bridgend for Connacht Sun and Ulster in town next Sat. Can't wait!!

If an all-Lions front five is in the horrors against Japan for the first 40, talking about the 10 after the 60 minute mark is just critiquing the particular shade of lipstick on the gorilla.

The abuse Gav Coombes is getting from the clueless 'who would you drop' brigade is boiling my blood. He's clearly not the type of 8 AF wants. Does not mean hes not a phenomenal player!

In the arms park with the Cardiff supporting teens. Should be a cracking game (and better for my blood pressure than watching Munster)

Was at the Munster game in Gloucester tonight. First half front row got pulverised in the scrum. Second half team immeasurably better! Happy to report John Hodnett can still run through people all game long

I know it was a B team, playing in the rain, against a weaker opposition, but from the stats its clear to see how Ireland are in the process of radically changing their game plan: going from being the meat grinder of 1,000 rucks to the samurai sword of 2 or 3

Question remains: does that suit them?

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

An accent I would never have imagined hearing - beautiful west of Ireland Irish that's also discernibly Ukrainian.

Uplifting and heart-breaking in equal measure.
I find this very moving: a 10-year-old Ukrainian boy who moved to the West of Ireland 2 years ago as a refugee, speaking in Irish of his love of playing Irish music

Remember vividly as an Irish fan being at the 2019 Wales game, thought we would be nilled. Walked into a pub afterwards & they all sang 'Wooaoh, your Sextons so dire' at me to the tune of the Kings of Leon song..Miss Wales being competitive so much. 6 nations has lost a bit of its spark without them
