ICE in Burnsville, MN followed a family home, broke down their door, and abducted 4 of them at gunpoint including the parents of a 7 year old and the husband of a pregnant woman. All of this occurred without a warrant for a home owned by a US citizen. (12/6/25)

It was pretty telling that a Seattle Times column about tech salaries included a median income chart that had "law enforcement officer" at the third-highest income—and that includes all law enforcement jobs (not just police) and does not reflect the latest large raises for cops.

Missed this—the Times accuses the city attorney-elect of winning by unfairly "painting" Ann Davison as a Republican. She is openly Republican, and ran as a Republican in a partisan race for a statewide position! She talked about why she's a Republican as recently as our Seattle Nice election debate.

As someone who used to get around exclusively by (regular, normal-priced) bike, I agree from repeated experience that it SUCKS to have your bike stolen. I also think this argument is really an excuse to argue for arresting homeless folks and prosecuting them for felonies.
