This is my annual(ish) 'Shit's getting cold out there' post to remind you not to wake up to, or come home to, a flooded basement.
Close the valves to your outdoor spigots, but most importantly, then go open those spigots to let that water drain out and not freeze in the pipe.

For the locals, the Va side is always worth a visit and safely ignoring the signage.
Fall color starting to BURST at Great Falls. CWG's Kevin Ambrose was there Saturday (he had to hike in as the park is closed on the Va side). He said the color is not quite peak. Enjoy his photos.

I was wandering around Michaels' Halloween section and I can't help but thinking they're selling the Big Bad Wolf dropping grandma off at the pool while cleaning up with Red Ridinghood's cloak.
I'm mostly posting it though, as I think more than a couple of you might feel a need to have one.
