I tried my hand a visualising temperature data from a weather station in Melbourne Australia using R. Nowhere near as good as Prof Jacobson’s charts but look at 2025! Even if the chart looks mediocre the data just screams at you! Working on a self updating visualiser using power BI …

Exactly a year ago, Melbourne airport weather station measured temps min 8.8 deg, max 16.7. Today expected min 15 and max 30. #climatechange

Sorry to report Australia, where I live, has become a monster SUV state as well. Our genius gov gave a tax concession for purchasing these things. They are a nuisance in terms of safety, visibility, pollution etc etc. Here’s one I photographed last week, doesn’t fit in a regular parking space. Ugh
