NEW op-ed from our ED @camillelabchuk.bsky.social: St. Joseph’s Hospital is ending dog experiments after our exposé. Premier Doug Ford has promised new laws to ban dog & cat experiments—but we also need federal leadership & funding for #CrueltyFree alternatives.
Closing St. Joseph’s dog lab is a victory — but it’s just the beginning
Ontario must pass new laws, and the federal government should fund the alternatives we need. It’s time for Canada to join the growing list of countries moving beyond animal experiments altogether.

In Ontario, you don't even need a license to operate a zoo🤯

End Times at Ontario’s Roadside Zoos? | The Local
Ontario’s lax regulations have made the province the “wild west” for exotic animals. But as public concern over animal welfare grows, some zoos are buckling under the pressure.

Today Sen. Don Plett turns 75 & retires—ending a decade of Senate obstruction for animal bills.

He nearly killed Canada's whale & dolphin captivity ban. He DID kill the live horse export ban by running out the clock. Same for ape/elephant captivity.
