Government finances are entirely different from personal finances.

However, our financial journalists continue to spread financial illiteracy, with talk of “balancing in the books“, “maxing out on the country’s credit cards“ etc

Whenever I point out that she had top-class political skills I get lambasted for being a Thatcherite, which is the diametric opposite of the truth. If the politicians who ostensibly stood against her foul philosophy had just half her political skill we wouldn't be in anything like this fucking mess.
