100%. That was a very deliberate tribute to my favourite author and one of my favourite characters.

They are both independently created monsters. Slow horse predates the stranger times books and Banecroft was in the The Strange Times sitcom script I wrote decades ago that formed the basis of the books. Tbh he’s more me ripping of a cross between Bernard Black from Black Books and J Jonah Jameson.
