to all aspiring artists/musicians:
if you ever find yourself asking if a record label deal is right for you, just study the business deals they are making. those are their priorities, so your answer lies there.

I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

Impeach, convict, remove.

And if our current leaders won’t do it, they need to step aside for people who will.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigning in time to get a pension is a lesson to everyone.

Most Americans don't get *any* pension anymore, but Congress gave itself a pension after only five years of work.

Our "representatives" aren't working for us, they are [barely] working for themselves.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

I’ve been saying this for ages: These folks are doomed to be permanently angry because they’re angry about aspects of the culture that policy ultimately can’t change. They’re seeking political power as a consolation prize for lack of cultural power, and will always be dissatisfied.
I think this prediction is holding up pretty well, and maybe I should have noted the failure of the Turn Charlie Kirk Into A Martyr moment might have been the pinnacle of the phenomenon. In some deep way I think the New Right Loser Men fail to understand what state power can and can't do for them.

my impression of news headlines today.

- terrible people doing terrible things and getting away with it

- tech bros pretend invest in each other to pretend there is no AI bubble

- AI can do everything even when it can’t

- turkey recipe that should be on every thanksgiving table
