Dear Publisher - We recently shared the news that Baker & Taylor was shutting down operations. When we learned they were financially unstable, Ingram took many steps to reduce credit exposure and stock levels, while continuing availability of books to library customers. Those steps were highly successful and the credit balance to the account was brought down significantly over time. At the time they shut down operations, their remaining stock on hand was minimal. Unfortunately, we have received notice that they will not pay the outstanding amounts they do owe and no further stock will be returned. Ingram is taking on the first $100,000, but the debt owed exceeds that amount. As a result, a chargeback for your pro rata share will be on your December statement (available the first week of January), per the terms of your contract.

The only time I've been in a store during Black Friday was when we needed to buy a drain snake at like 11pm (and when you need a drain snake late at night, you NEED IT), so we went to walmart and had to weave around black plastic-covered sale stacks and lines of antsy people to get to plumbing.

Five years after Sky disappeared, Ari is walking into the woods behind his childhood home. He's on the phone with his mom, and it's nighttime. Ari (on phone): No, I told you, Ma. I can't make it to dinner. It's the anniversary. ... What I always do. I need this, okay? I'll see you guys next week. He opens one of the two cans he brought with him and puts it in the grass on the hill beside him. Ari, sighing: Hey, Sky. It's Ari again. Been a while. Some time passes. Ari: So, remember how last year I said I was sure the new Game of Thrones book was gonna come out? Guess who looks like a big idiot now? I dunno, I sort of hope he doesn't ever finish the series at this point. Some things are better when they don't have a real ending. Like you. Cheers, Sky. He clinks the cans together, but the can set aside for Sky starts rolling down the hill, spilling beer everywhere. Ari: Aw, shit. He chases it to the base of the hill and sees something sparkling behind a tree. Ari: What... what the hell? He reaches behind the same tree Sky reached behind five years ago. He emerges into a forest in midday. Ari: Hel... Hello? Hello? Hell-- He's interrupted by an arrow thrumming straight past his head. Ari: Ah! Elf: Halt! State your business, stranger. We see an elf woman with red hair and a bow and arrow. She's in front of a sprawling landscape that includes a forest, a camp and a castle in the distance. Elf: Poaching in the Princewood is punishable by death.

Whenever there’s some engagement post of like, “your 6th photo in your camera roll has killed you” or whatever, it never works for me because mine is always a something like screenshot from a history text of the dangerous dead, or particularly good romance copy on a candy bar.
