Crossarm is cedarwood, shaft is birch. Slight variation with cutaway for half-hitch. Weighs about 1oz, great for slightly thicker singles. The style is txoatile (Basque).

Absolutely! Have some dead fall collected and seasoning from some local black walnut and oak. Planning to handturn a supported spindle soon, which I've yet to experience spinning with.

Absolutely! I finished a popsicle/chopstick Turkish spindle last week. Significantly lighter than my regular spindle but very satisfying. 💜
