Throughout the summer, @wired.com reporter Kate Knibbs has been following our campaign.

From right-wing attacks to our mutual aid work to the 20 bottles of hot sauce in the campaign office, here’s what she saw: www.wired.com/story/kat-ab...

President Johnson, in a November 9, 1968 letter to the Smothers Brothers:

“It is part of the price of leadership of this great and free nation to be the target of clever satirists . . . May we never grow so somber or self-important that we fail to appreciate the humor in our lives.”

The United States is in desperate need of a major new party: The People's Party. One which has the wellbeing of humanity at its core.

A party with values built around wellbeing and simple clear policies to deliver on that goal.

This is my husband’s Antifa father liberating Paris. He’s the one in front on the left with the boy behind him. Look at all those welcoming smiles for Antifa! Time Magazine, 1944.

I Feel Love
I don’t think it’s a hyperbole to state that this is one of the most important pieces in popular music history.. as we would have no House, Techno, “EDM”, ItaloDisco or Hi-NRG without I Feel Love

Excited to have been able to free 5 more people from immigration detention this week, in an otherwise difficult week. Even when things feel dark, we can find those places in the system where intervention is possible, and intervene as much as we can! Onward. Tinyurl.com/NCRBail

That famous photo of Ozzy hoisting Randy Rhoads into the air has surely crossed your feed this week—and for good reason! It's awesome. Chicago photographer Paul Natkin took it in 1982. You can learn more about Paul (in his own words) from this 2022 interview. chicagoreader.com/music/paul-n...

“I’d been able to BS my way into almost any sporting event in the city of Chicago; let’s see if I could BS my way into a concert,” says Paul Natkin. “How hard could it be?”

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

Escaped from the chaos to a strawberry farm and for 15 mins all I could think about is finding the little red treasures under the leaves. I could have picked for another 45 mins but it was too hot for my friends who were waiting in the car. Grateful for the respite.
